Electro, efficiency, and smashing bpm.

In the past ten years, I’ve had the pleasure of participating with many artists across the globe in search of closing the gap between the sound that comes out of the computer, keys & guitar to that which is spinning around in my head. A mix for the compilation “The Challenge from Beyond” which audified the terror, auxhiliaration, and surrender to the forces of nature working against the forces of man. A remix for Leaetherstrip which bent Claus’ driving EBM style into a full on Americanized onslaught of electrorock, trip hop, and tech step. A handful of remix work for Los Angeles’ own Purr Machine, transforming the already beautiful voice of Betsy Martin into an electronic instrument itself, outweighing, outnumbering, and overpowering the actual synth work. A happy find in the audio tracks supplied by Battery, having Maria whisper “I hope you hurt as much as me”, a golden key in allowing me to create a spacial dub of their track Aftermath.

Now comes time to ante up. Stop releasing little teaser freebies via some of the Internet’s most valuable mp3 sites (the now defunct mp3.com, download.com, garageband.com); while this has been fun and enlightening, it’s easy to derail from creating a piece that can stand up 3, 4, or 10 years later when there is zero resistance.

So, for the mixes doled out in the past, I’ve recalled the favor to a handful of these artists to help me complete this work entitled “The Psychal”. If you’re on this site, you already know what to expect musically.

What the hell is “breakcore” anyway?

Not so much in an effort to have you buy a CD of tracks, rather to slip a little Boom into the iTunes, Sony Connect, eMusic, and Napster scene: there’s a little something entitled “breakcore RESTORATION” available in both soft and hard copy formats (that would be downloadable digital audio or compact disc to y’all ol’ schoolers). Five tracks of beats, all for as low as 88c a pop (depending on your favorite vendor). Choose from iTunes, Sony Connect, Napster, MP3Tunes, eMusic, Liquid Audio, & more. If you insist on having a full blown CD copy of the album, you can usually find the album available at Tower records or at CD Baby.
